Ryerson Learning & Teaching Conference

The annual conference was hosted virtually for the first time in 2021. The event was for Ryerson faculty, instructors, graduate students and staff, we had 350+ attendees and 60+ presenters. As the Marketing and Communications Assistant for the Centre for Excellence and Learning and Teaching I assisted in planning/coordinating the event, marketing the event through existing centre channels, designing the conference portal, and pre-producing videos, guides, and graphics. In the month I was responsible for promoting the event on Twitter we naturally gained 52.2K Tweet impressions, increasing our impressions by 42.2%.

One of my major assignments was to create a video to acknowledge the University Teaching Development Program. I developed interview questions, coordinated and conducted remote interviews alongside members of the communications team, created animations, edited the rough and final video, and worked with an undergraduate student to close caption the final product. It was rewarding to see the work pay off when it was presented at the opening events of the conference.
